I am still getting errors on trying to upgrade even with -f used. See
attachment for script of commands and list of other ppa's. Intel
graphics on Sony Vaio.

I can hit the
Fix #11 as embodied in patches as of 2010-09-12 also fix it for me. And
the lessening of cpu smoke is noticable (that is, the fact that the CPU
doesn't go nuts anymore makes everything else a bit better).

Version 10.10 fresh updates as of 2010-7-10 with zero other changes also has
this exact bug.
Going into .local/share/applications/mimeapps.list and altering mime-type for
inode/directory to nautilus.desktop fixed the problem.
Something is changing or adding that line to that file.

AlpsPS/2 ALPS GlidePoint touchpad.
I can get tap to click but no scrolling - either along the side or as a two

I will add I have had the same problem with Sony Vaio and my current workaround:
Sony Vaio VPCEB15FX with ALC269 just like comment 11 above. I grabbed the
hda-verb program compiled and installed it and used:
sudo hda-verb /dev/snd/hwC0D0 0x19 SET_PIN_WIDGET_CONTROL 0x22
