Folks,
I have the same issue with a Nikon D40 camera loaded with a 4GB SDHC card on
ubuntu 8.04 (i386) and 8.10(amd 64bit). The mount works fine with Ubuntu 7.04
as well as Knoppix 5.1.1 (all i386-versions). The mount also works with a 2GB
SD card on 8.04,

in a way you are right. I can either redefine the client script and put
my own or I can take care that the ip is never renewed. I think it would
be better to a have a default configuration in ubuntu that leaves
resolv.conf alone when a vpn has been opened.

Thanks for the good hints. I only use cisco vpn client (vpnc) for
networkmanger. vpnc creates a new interface tun0 when the vpn is open. So I
enhanced the first mentioned patch by checking whether a tun interface exists.
If there is tun interface up dhclient continues as usual otherwise it doesn
