Every time I suspend my laptop (Macbookpro6,1) and then resume, compiz
does something weird. The composited gradient window borders become
black blocks. This is not nice, because also every menu/dialog window
gets these fat fat blocks around them.
I'm using NVidia binary driv
OK. I reinstalled whole OS and the problem seems to be gone. However,
software should never behave like it did.

I tried couple of commands:
dbus-monitor --profile "interface=org.gnome.Screensaver"
and
dbus-monitor --session
"type='signal',interface='org.gnome.ScreenSaver',member='ActiveChanged'"
Both of them cause a system crash within 5 - 20 seconds. I can't change
vt or log in via
xbindkeys is a good workaround, too, but still this is annoying.
Sometimes working, sometimes not.

I have also another Karmic alpha install which is already almost 2
months old but dist-upgraded twice a day. A few weeks ago I could create

Me too. We noticed the same issue when trying to alter IPv4 properties
for VPN connection. Karmic fresh install at 2009-30-09.

After upgrading to gutsy (in september) the snd-hda-driver started to
misbehave.
Now I have on up-to-date gutsy on Lenovo T60 and I have to always
modprobe (and modprobe -r) the driver at least twice before it works.
And the first modprobe takes more than 10 seconds. After a couple of
load/unload
I'm runnign up2date gutsy. VPN connections work well with
networkmanager-openvpn and resolv.conf gets modified...
BUT
after a while dhclient(?) comes and overrides the modifications made by
network-manager-openvpn. I mean, my openvpn server sends the dns
information and networkmanager-openvpn get

screen) with fglrx driver and ati mobility x1400 graphics adapter. With
Feisty suspend worked well, as well as with Gutsy running Feisty kernel
(2.6.20).
I've tried the driver versions found in feisty's or gutsy's standard
reposit

using the most current and the previous kernel but no luck. Then I
unplugged the power jack, halted the os, and removed the battery. After

I can confirm it, too. My system is i686 and I upgraded today from
dapper. For me the apt-get install xserver-xorg-video-all didn't help...
Perhaps the fglrx driver which was previously installed did something? I
don't know. :(
