When I press the backlight keys, I can see the OSD indicator changing, however
the backlight brightness does not change. It always stays at the lowest value.

When I press the mute/unmute button on my keyboard it mutes the sound, but when
I press it again it doesn't unmute it. Solution is to use the mouse to go to
the volume control tray and press 'unmute'.

Following your instructions, I have made the relevant tests on the newest
kernel (2.6.32-17-generic) on the currently dev. version (10.04).

I did a clean install of kk and fired up the player.The plugin is enabled by
default, but the configuration defaults to not showing the status icon.This is
clearly an oxymoron.
However, after enabling everything from the dropdown menu it works.

by installing the printer using sudo and the terminal the printer works

In the default installation of Mozilla Firefox the backspace key does not work,
unlike in other operating systems, where it is used for the "go back one page"
action.
To fix this the user needs to go to firefox's internal settings by typing in
the adress bar about:config
