Today I tried to compile it from svn (http://www.kphotoalbum.org
/download-svn.html, there is change in ubuntu - You must use package
kde-devel) and it worked! (Beware of the kde bug - see
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=996173)
I hope, that ubuntu team will rebuild the version with kde4
I must confirm, that there is the same bahaviour in kde4:

Even if I use kde4, if I try the about dialog I get the following (see
attachment). It says that it uses kde 3.5.10

I found it by using man aptitude (Kubuntu Feisy Fawn 7.04 up to date
4.8.2007, locales are cs_CZ.UTF-8), man page is localized, but incorrect
encoding (utf-8). So I try:
