If you don't already have them... open a terminal and try:
$ sudo apt-get install msttcorefonts
It contains packages that SHOULD set your default font to Times New
Roman. Worked for me, but I'm using Gaudy with OOo 3.1

http://www.forzatraders.com/flash/ForzaMotorsport3CarSetupTool.swf to
use offline but the app it opens with, totem, didn't have the
appropriate codecs and recommended searching for them. found
gstreamer0.10 but nothing else. upon installation,
