before this bug gets closed and falls into oblivion, i have a last
request to people affected by this bug:
would you please:
- append the bootparameter "acpi=off" or
- try to reserve any IRQ except "11" in BIOS
and report if sound issues are gone and post the output of:
- "dmesg"
- "lspci -n"

2.6.15-26.44?

i hunted down this issue.
recent VIA IRQ quirk changes in 2.6.15-26.44 have broken various VIA devices.

i backported Daniels patch for 2.6.15-26.45 and attached it.
for me it fixes the described problems on various VIA integrated bords.
