Sorry, this is just sick.
Bug reported and confirmed (!) in 2016, but still not resolved.
I confirm this bug still exists and is affecting me and other users. We
do not have control over WiFi, so we cannot change the password. But we
cannot use the WiFi, because of this bug.

Here we have a great example how bugs are being solved.
Since there was no good solution, I updated 20.04 to 20.10. Bug was
still there. Then I updated to 21.04 - and, voila, bug is not present
anymore.
So the solution is clear. Just wait till bugs dissapear by "natural
reasons"... or till users

Sorry for the more comments. But to clarify another thing, I haven't
even "started" the VPN, I just installed it. I have just configured the
port, TCP/UDP, and name of the machine on the VPN.

I have Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro laptop and had the same problem. After reboot
(when there was login screen), screen was flickering and endless
changing rotation randomly. I managed to stop this by enabling external
screen (inserted miniHDMI-to-VGA cable into laptop).

Yes. Evdev is used instead of synaptics.
It is the same with 3.19 kernel (with driver installed). So i Googled and I
found one user reporting that it is working on 4.0.1 kernel.
That is the only reason.

I booted my PC with kernel 4.0.1 and uninstalled focaltech-dkms. After that I
rebooted the machine.

It didn't help.

Touchpad worked fine with the kernel version 3.16.0-33-generic.

The behaviour is worst as with previous BIOS: the disk fails to connect
even on the first attempt after booting.

External HD is recognised only first one or two times after booting the

@Brad: Does the attached output from ubuntu-bug linux contain sufficient
information or is it better to use apport-collect?
@Joseph: I booted from DVD. I'll try to make bootable flash disk and
install latest kernel as you suggested.

Public bug reported:
A Hitachi 2.5" disk in USB 3 disk enclosure with JMicron chip fails to
be connected on Ubuntu Trusty.
The same system was booted with Utopic Unicorn Beta 2 to verify whether
newer kernel resolves the problem. Unfortunatelly it does not.
The disk was properly recognised only
