I have to tell, the mouse now works... no idea why...

I really tried, but it does not do: I do not get a proposed kernel.
I enabled proposed updates, but I cannot enable the proposed archive in the
updates tab. The option for proposed simply does not exists. :-(
(cross checked on two other Ubuntu systems, none of them has the proposed

Workaround: manually edit /etc/apt/sources.list and replace all
occurances of "jaunty" with "karmic" and launch update-manager (without
-d). This works, only does not give you the message box telling stuff
about the new release. It simply offers a distribution upgrade and if
allowed to do, executes
Update: I reverted to version 2.0beta of the betavine driver that worked under
Jaunty this morning due to massive connect problems with network manager as
well the betavine program.
Now it works but conflicted the whole Ubuntu One folder again.
