Great ! The packages from your PPA solved the problem for me !
I ran my testcase: open firefox, open an existing writer document, add a
footnote, and switch with ALT-TAB to firefox then switch back to writer.

Ouch ! The problem appeared again for me, but in a different way.
I had only one writer document opened, moved it from one workspace to
another, did many different things for one hour, and then I could not
switch from Firefox to LibreOffice. I had to minimize Firefox to see
Libreoffice. In the mea
The workaround given by Marco Lackovic (comment #134) worked also for me.
I ran a:
sudo aptitude reinstall bamfdaemon
then opened 2 files in LibreOffice writer, and could swith from one to
another or to another application (eg Nautilus).

I experienced the behaviour described in #844119 (which led me here,
because it is a duplicate) and it seems I found a workaround.
1) The behaviour I had:
To reproduce:
* Open Libre Office Writer
* Open a few other applications such a Firefox and Thunderbird
* Hit Alt-Tab and switch to Firefox
