[Bug 996646] Re: Evolution mbox export broken

2016-10-10 Thread Max_E
The Precise release is coming close to EOL, so I'm sure some people (like me) are panicking and trying to migrate their email to new systems before April. Therefore, I'd like to report how I worked around this issue in case anyone finds it useful. It's based on a modified version of the directions

[Bug 877886] Re: alien arena fails on upgrade to ocelot

2012-05-07 Thread Max_E
Creating a symbolic link in ~/.config/alien-arena is wrong. I believe it is being done by the packagers because they haven't discovered the --bindir, --datadir, and --datarootdir options to the Autotools configure script. Remember, ~/.config/alien-arena/ must be *writable* or the game won't work.

I have discovered a workaround. First, rip wineoss.drv.so out of this RPM: http://pkgs.org/download/fedora-15/fedora-i386/wine-oss-1.3.18-1.fc15.i686.rpm.html Copy it to /usr/lib/wine. Then, copy /usr/lib/wine/fakedlls/winealsa.drv to /usr/lib/wine/fakedlls/wineoss.drv. I have determined with

I'm confirming that it affects me as well, I'm also using OSS4, and am using the Wine PPA. I've read this: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=927685 However, the upgrade to 1.3.21 in the PPA has not fixed this. ** Tags added: oss regression -- You received this bug notification

A (probable) fix in this for GtkTextView has been committed to trunk in the Gtk+ source. Any chance of it being backported? http://git.gnome.org/browse/gtk+/commit/?id=b7de18ab35e587df98032eaaa3d159d8f8fd64f4 This Gnome bug report also includes a screencast with steps to reproduce 100%:

This is one of the worst ideas I've ever heard. It's obnoxious, tasteless, and totally out of character. I'm completely disgusted that this wasn't rejected out of hand. -- Set and/or enable default Evolution signature as Sent from Ubuntu https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/615300 You received this

So I had a brainwave-- the bug report links to the apparently very simple fix which ended up being used in GCC. It's just replacing one block of code in one file. (Here's the diff: http://gcc.gnu.org/viewcvs/branches/gcc-4_4-branch/gcc/expr.c?r1=150947r2=150946pathrev=150947) I think it should be

2010-08-19 Thread Max_E
Okay, I tried a very simple backport of the fix linked to, and that did *not* work! I've verified with gcc -v that I am using my modified version of GCC, and it still has the same error when I try to compile Lightspark. I think the next thing for me to try is just checking out that SVN revision,
