This problem had happened twice n past two weeks.
Normally, I place the laptop on my laps (with legs on the desk).
Occasionally I set it on my desk for a few minutes to do other chores. Then the
screen goes dark after I pick it up.
Only Hard restart works.

More recent releases do not work. The very reason I stopped the
Kernell updates on my laptop until version 5.0.0.-28 is released which
should include the solution to our problem of screen never wakes up from
suspend mode.

I think I have solved the problem. The issue was. I decided to change my OS
from ubuntu 18.10 to Lubuntu one. Before doing so, I backed up the "Home"
onto USB drive up using Deja dup app.
Then installed Lubuntu - selecting "erase Disk" option, then restored the
Home. After my reply above, I
