Nothing until I start named manually. Just complaints from ddclient,
ntpdate, and ntpd_initres about inability to resolve hostnames.

For what it's worth, the only message in syslog from boot that mentions
named is:

It starts perfectly when I open a terminal and say sudo
/etc/init.d/bind9 start . I saw no errors in syslog.
