For me adding video=VGA-1:e helped only for limited time: after the
computer got into sleep mode and woke up again, the flickering problem
was back.

Following the suggestion of Markus (microsome), I've disabled ,,Window
Spread'' in unity-tweak-tool under the tab Window Spread. When closing
the tweak tool the screen blinked once and afterwards the issue
disappeared.

Am I the only person interested in this bug? I'm really sad that it god

My kernel got upgraded from standard repositories. I use Dell Latitude
E5470. Now the touchpad and trackpoint are recognised:

The same here, Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, Latitude E5470, Bus 001 Device 004: ID
0a5c:5805 Broadcom Corp., not working.
I'd highly appreciate if someone had a look into that!

When I plug my digital camera to USB port, there is no new icon on the
unity launcher. I can see my device in nautilus, it is automatically
mounted. When I go to Compiz-config and change the setting Show
devices to always and back to only mounted, then the camera icon
appears
I ran this command, relogged in and the problem is still the same.

Whenever an open-file dialog appears, it presents all files, including
hidden. The setting Show hidden files in the preferences of Nautilus is
OFF. Of course I can always click Ctrl+H or right-click and disable
showing hidden files. But it's annoying!
The general setting
I also think that the thumb problem is deeper than unity. The question
is whether the whole bug comes from this USB-management problems?

Modifying controls in pavucontrol helped also in my case.
I like Ubuntu, but 12.04 seems to be a nightmare: problems with login
screen, problems with microphone, WiFi auto switching off when restrart,
old bugs with jumping windows moving them around...
