I can't use GSSAPI via sasl to receive data from the ldap server if SSL
or TLS is used as I get illegal packet length errors as reported. Non
encrypted ldap is working with no issues using GSSAPI authentication.

Not sure if this is a problem with openldap or cyrus-sasl2 at this

Using sasl binding only works with ldapsearch when not using ssl or tls.
If either ssl or tls is used I see this ouput from -d 1 from ldapsearch:
sb_sasl_generic_pkt_length: received illegal packet len
It seems then that neither exec not extend let me anchor the oid where I
want like I could before. Either way will give

snmpwalk.

Documentation of the issue seems like a reasonable way forwards,
assuming the crc32c module is also pre-installed into the installer
initrd and left as a choice for the sysadmin to add it manually.

module into the the documenta
I can confirm that adding crc32c as a manual entry in the /etc
/initramfs-tools/modules and rebuilding the initramfs with update-
initramfs -u does work to fix the problem on Ubuntu 10.04.

and not libcrc32) and this time during boot I saw an unlogged to the
boot or syslog message about a missing symbol in that module and then
the same long pause behavior for trying to load the network driver on
boot.

I see a delay of about 3-4 minutes on boot as the blade tries the 8
ethernet interfaces and times out on the missing libcrc32 module on all
of them.
The server is booted from a local disk. I can attempt to add libcrc32
to the module list next scheduled reboot.

version of the apache2 package. I think a regression in ssl support for
ldap has occured with this version of apache2. I've put one of my two
misbehaving servers back to 2.2.14-5ubuntu8.4 to see if the problems go

Apparently this was a SAN issue that didn't force a ro on this
filesystem. I noted the issues later and remounted this filesystem and
then it was able to resize online.
