When I went to load the sta Broadcom drivers it failed during installation.
When I went to the link you provided it said there was a later one already
installed and failed to intall it.

I was able to choose a different driver than the default they gave me when I
went back in cups and chose the postscript one and that one worked. But When
I first set up the printer it didn't give me the other choices.

I have tried a few others and it works fine with those. I looked at the
bottom of the Dinner for Two cd and it is scratched up a bit maybe that is
why it is not working.

I just put a us music cd (cbs dinner for two) in the cd player and played it
in rythombox and the artist name had like garbage charaters in it.

I was doing adding many programs from the add/remove feature in ubuntu
9.04, one of them was emacs which I saw was a bug mentioned for some
one else's cmake problem.

After some updates in 8.10 I got it to work. You have to set it up a
special way. It works the same way on Jaunty too. I have that now. Here
is what you have to do for google apps email accounts.
My email address is mich...@kerputer.com so here is what I had to set.

domain kerput
An update fixed the bug and I am able to get it to work but I had to do
some funny things for it to work.

Pidgin won't connect to gtalk where the account is a google account with
your own domain on ubuntu 8.10. This used to work fine on ubuntu 8.04.
It says it is available but comes back and asks for you to modify the
account. I cannot add any buddies.
