did you solve the problem?
I have the same behavior when I play files from a samba network share
(smb 3.0). Local disk playback works without problems for me.

Post 158 works, but i had to install also the following package for
ubuntu 10.04.
linux-backports-modules-wwan-2.6.32-27-generic
You have to choose the package accordingly to your running kernel.
