I experience the same problem on 2 machines, one being Lenovo ThinkPad
W520 with Quadro 1000M, the other HP Z800 with nVidia Quadro4000 (IIRC).
Both have fresh installs of Ubuntu Precise 12.04.

4 months later I still experience this problem (just upgraded to
Maverick last week). As in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source
/emacs-snapshot/+bug/676175 this problem exists only when using dual-
head setup. Working with emacs is only possible with one screen or in
the terminal (-nw).
