Baobab back in the days where Unity was netbook-only. That issue has

The latest Zeitgeist releases 0.7.0 doesn't fox this. There is a chance

I guess the menu bar problem is a problem for all Java apps, or
perhaps Eclipse is special. In any case you can get the menus back by
running 'unset UBUNTU_MENUPROXY' in a terminal and then launching
eclipse from that terminal.

It has been reported that setting the environment variable
CLUTTER_VBLANK=none mitigates this issue. You can test it out by running
'CLUTTER_VBLANK=none mutter --replace' in a terminal. If you want to
make this permanent you can do it by executing 'sudo echo
"CLUTTER_VBLANK=none" >> /etc/X11/Xsessi
Hi everyone - I'm one of the devs that have spent extensive time chasing
this slowness issue. I assure you I can relate to your disappointment
over a sluggish system. It's buggering me a lot as well.
The problem is that on some systems Unity runs perfectly fast (for
instance on my Eee 1001, intel
Michael Vogt pinged me about this bug, so just chiming in here for
completeness.
I'm pretty sure this wont cause problems for Unity. The one place that
comes to mind is when launching s-c to install an app from the
Availabale group in the apps place. In that case we fire off 'software-
center $pkg

I dug into the initramfs prompt a bit and I think I am on to
something... The disk is mounted on /cdrom and lives as /dev/sdb1. But
look at the attached screenshot - it complains that /dev/sda1 is not a
valid vfat fs - which is certainly correct since /dev/sda1 is the build
in hard drive
I started to question my sanity so I went out and bought a new better
quality usb stick, but alas I get the exact same error.
I also tried all the usb slots in the netbook in case it was caused by
some noise in a connection. No dice there either.
