13.10 still has graphviz at v2.26.3, which was released in 2010. graphviz has an up to date PPA, but it's highest ubuntu version supported is 12.04. trying to manually install it is a PITA, due to dependency issues. I really would like to have at least 2.30 for it's new features. (the latest st

i finally was able to get a GUI login screen after i logged in via ALT+F2. i installed lightdm and gdm. i set lightdm to be used ("dpkg-reconfigure lightdm") i typed in "sudo lightdm" it didnt work. no error message - just brought me back to the original boot-text screen ALT-F2 "sudo reboot now"
