so is there a fix for this, I'm having the same problem while trying to
install hardy alpha 5. There was a bug about this, but it has been
marked as solved, even though the solution wasn't fixing the problem,
it's using the alternate cd. This seems like a poor solution to the

I isolated the line that causes problems in /etc/init.d/bluetooth
I commented it out and it no longer crashed my computer, but bluetooth doesn't

When trying to load the live cd, 9/10 times the system hangs when it gets to
loading the bluetooth. when it did load, I installed ubuntu, and the bluetooth
worked while i was installing it fine. Then i booted off of the hard drive, and
9/10 times it hangs on laoding bluetoo
also, the light on the mute button is supposed to turn blue when the
volume is unmuted, and although the mute icon on the screen appears and
mutes or unmutes, the button light alwaystays orange
