I'm running karmic, and since I have an audio chip which emits a click
whenever it goes to powersave, I realized that when I'm using the
console (either gnome-terminal or the VT-n ones) the audio card is woken
up whenever I hit tab twice.
I know that in the past there used
it's because init.d scripts are not called by default (see that rc2.d/ does not
contain the necessary links).
This means that in the postinst and postrm script we should call update-rc.d

Content roaming is a feature that makes the MSN client to use the same

I got an update to mesa which introduces 2 patches, one of which
(108_destroy_intel_fb.patch) causes a problem:
my gnome login crashes after 20-30 seconds, and only the failsafe xterm session
is usable.

when g-p-m sends me a notification about my battering is running out of
power, it should show a bar (such as the volume notification with the

I've also tried xset dpms force off and left there for 1 hour. no freeze.
Is it possible that gnome-power manager uses another method?

I managed to ssh to my box after the crash: I collected the dmesg output.
I cannot even reboot because sudo reboot crashes

Home can't be translated so there are only 2 options:
- use personal folder
- let the translator translate home into home if in the target
language the translation doesn't seem ok, like in Italy we do for
mouse
