Sam Brookfield, which model version do you have? the new ones use intel core-i
6th gen CPU and the bug is for the old ones with 5th gen.
Sound still doesn't work for me (without the grub fix), with official ubuntu
15.10 kernel, latest hp bios and also it's the same with latest 4.4 kernel.

Just did a reboot, as you requested.
I don't have usplash installed so I saw a clear red failed to autorebuild the
nvidia module.
I looked into dmesg, syslog, messages and other log files but didn't notice
anything about DKMS.

Upgraded from ubuntu 8.04.1 to 8.10 beta. My video card is nvidia GF6150.
Nvidia driver doesn't work anymore. Tried installing via Restricted Driver
Manager a few times, manually installing through apt-get/aptitude and through
envyng, also tried the today's final release (177.80) of the driver
I have GF6150 and I got the same problem. The nvidia module fails to compile
when I install it through envyng, although I have the kernel headers,
build-essential and all the other necessary packages installed.
