I can't answer your question because my Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Li1718 is not
working anymore.
I now have MSI CR720 laptop and everything is working out of the box.

Yes, but that is not the fix :(
I was testing other distros because of this bug and guess... on OpenSuse
11.3 KDE sound works when you add this config to
/etc/modprobe.d/50-sound.conf file :

I have created new account. Same thing. Sound coming only from right. I
don't even know if the sound coming from the right is subwoofer or right
speaker. The sound is very distorted.

Binary package hint: pulseaudio
After installing Ubuntu 10.10, there is no sound from my left speaker and also
sound is very low from right speaker.
The speakers are working, I tested it on Windows 7.
P.S. I am using laptop MSI CR720. This model has two speaker(2-watt)

I installed Ubuntu 9.10 alpha 5 on Fujistu Siemens Li 1718 Laptop. When
I enter $ iwconfig in terminal the wireless device is shown, but I can't
turn it on over hotkey. I tried to turn the wireless over terminal with
no success. I guess it has to be enabled over Hotkey. In
