More info: I have a Logitech Camera connected with USB to my laptop.
This lack of working microfphone forced me to use Windows, which is
forcing me into more propriatary software
sure, but there is not much to be seen on a screenshot. When I speak the
input level is not changing. I cannot use Skype and I am forced to use
Windows so that I can do my work. Any suggestion?

I installed Ubuntu 12.04 but I cannot use my microphones.
In Sound Settings-Input the input level does not change when I
choose my different microphones.
What can I do to make it work?
