I'm sorry but I finally had to reinstall Lucid to be able to be able to enjoy
my X-Fi again, so i'm not able to do anything on the non working system now.
I did post the ubuntu-bug report, hope this helps, and if you have a specific
question, maybe I could remember something that I forgot to men

orking but it did not bring my X-Fi back.
I finally tried, despaired, to downgrade all packages that had something
to do with alsa (and pulseaudio), back to Lucid version... which didn't
work better.
I have no idea of what may cause that problem, at least I tried to
provide the "non-working s
