There is supposed to be an extra blank line before the first "-BEGIN
PGP MESSAGE-" line in that comment. It got removed by the formatting
by launchpad.

I am still affected by this bug. From what I can tell some clients
insert an extra blank line before the pgp "header" if this might have
got something to do with it;

I have the same problem. No VESA modes work, rendering all virtual
consoles unusable containing just the random pixels at the top of the
screen described in the report unless set to default 80x25 mode.

After adding the PPA from
https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat/+archive/x-updates and upgrading at
least OsmosDemo launches without any lockups, so this seems to have
fixed the problem for me.

It's repeatable using OsmosDemo on my Acer AspireOne

Had to switch back to thunderbird as I can't send e-mail with Evolution.
It locks up and goes unresponsive, and the only solution is to kill it.
When restarting and recovering the unsent mail, it locks up again as I
click the send button.
