I have fixed the problem, but I think there is still a bug!?
I have a ASUS EAX 800 XL graphics card with two DVI ports.
The monitor was on port 2 and that was the problem.
When I changed the monitor to port 1 - the problem was gone.
With older Ubuntu releases, this was not a problem.
Now I tried Ubuntu 12.04 LTS beta 2.
The bug still exists.
Ubuntu 11.10 works without this problem.

Now I tried Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) Daily Build 2012-03-09 with
Kernel 3.2.0-18.
The bug still exists.
I have had the same bug with Ubuntu 11.10 Beta 1 and Beta 2.
The 11.10 Release then was OK and I use it without problems.
