Same here (Kubuntu 18.04.01) - after removing blocked print jobs in CUPS
service UI (http://localhost:631/) plasmashell started. Here is my gdb
backtrace from the crash before:

My computer has been running for an hour now and the memory usage of
dbus-daemon keeps growing. as of this writing it is 271mb memory usage
under the res column in top.
This has grown from 50 mb at boottime.
I guess this is a bug in dbus.
apt-cache policy dbus
dbus:
now 2 hours later it has grown to 671mb
