I'm not sure yet. I haven't had the time to go through the whole
TroubleShooting guide but I have confirmed that the events are being
received. One useful fact that I managed to ascertain was that the whole
thing works fine with a proper USB keyboard (no adapter). I managed to
get my hands on an ad
This is not specific to the keyboard that I'm using. I got another PS2
keyboard and used the same converter cable. The issue is there as well.
I'll try next with a USB keyboard directly.

Public bug reported:
I've using a ThinkPad X201. I recently got a PS2 keyboard which I
connect to the laptop using a PS2 to USB converter cable.
The keyboard works fine in the default configuration. No issues
whatsoever.
However, when I remap the Caps Lock key to Ctrl (I use Emacs a lot and

I have an X201 (with the Arrandale chip and and an i5) and I tested the
kernel in #107. It boots up okay but for some reason my trackpoint (and
it's buttons) stops functioning (the trackpad and it's buttons work
fine).

I can confirm this. If I go to
System -> Preferences -> Assistive technologies
and uncheck the "Enabe assistive technologies" button, My Emacs (snapshot-gtk)
starts to behave fine.
The window switch is still perceptibly slower than for other apps
though.
I came across this issue on Ubuntu 8.1

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: python2.4
The logging module is part of the python2.4 package.
This issue is visible in edgy but not in dapper. The version of python
on edgy is 2.4.4c1 whereas with in dapper, it is 2.4.3.
If the logging module is used as follows
$ cat foo.py
import
This is the state of the package in dapper as well as edgy. However, the
corresponding package on Debian has the correct _mingc.so and the .py
files to actually use ming.
