Found Ubuntu precise (development branch) (12.04) on /dev/sda8
But there is no sign of this entry in the generated grub.cfg
The /boot partition of that Kubuntu install is /dev/sda6

In 11.10, nvidia-settings has to be launched from konsole using kdesudo.
It will complain when saving the settings the first time, but it will
work: settings will survive a reboot.
The default menu entry in KDE launcher should be changed in 12.4 to
include kdesudo and xorg.conf should be modified

There is no xorg.conf to parse or only a bogus one, so settings cannot
be saved
Same problem on 10.10. Nothing happens if yo don't put it a login/password and
if you do, it just fails and never connects.
