I've just come across a knock on effect of this bug when configuring the
Ubuntu SSH server for curve25519-sha...@libssh.org key exchange only,
and using the latest Debian package openssh-client to connect.
Because Ubuntu's SSH server version doesnt match 6.6.1, the Debian SSH
client disables curve

Currently the upstart service definition launches anacron with '-s',
which serialises its jobs - this defeats part of the purpose of running
it for me (cron.daily/weekly/monthly will serialise jobs just fine
courtesy of run-parts) - I have submitted a similar bug to Debian whe
Sigh, took me all day to work out that this is due to aufs not providing
a filesystem ID - add any old fsid to the export options, e.g:
/mnt/omegafw_aufs_backup/
omega1(rw,sync,no_root_squash,no_subtree_check,fsid=1337)

Currently I am on Debian Testing, and I am investigating why a

Right, I currently have an uptime of 4d 23h 53m.
Resource usage of hardware-monitor at startup: 310MB virt, 19104KB res
Now: 513MB virt, 275MB res.
The patch doesn't seem to have made a difference for me - during the

hardware-monitor is now at 543MB virt and 169MB res - I will restart the
machine and continue the testing inorder to ensure the old version is
definitely not running.

Firstly I apologise if I have misunderstood here. I have added your PPA,
however the only packages showing for Maverick are the squashfs ones -
do you want me to update via the PPA or look into compiling the changes
from source?
Thanks

This remains a bug. I was very lucky to realise this was what caused it,
as it resulted in no video feed (kernel or X windows) and no SSH access,
the most shockingly poor position Ive been in so far (haven't used Linux
for that long so I was lucky to be able to take control of such a
situation).
