I'm only a translator, and not very aware of (nor involved on) the
details of the releasing procedure.
I did the first commit of ca.soundtheme on july 31rd, 4 days before the
release of KDE 4.3.0. Then I did some updates in mid-august, after the
release. I expected at least the first commit to be

Kubuntu Karmic Alpha 4, which uses KDE 4.3, lacks some recent catalan
translations in kde-l10n-ca package. More precisely, new KTuberling
sound translations have been added recently, and these don't appear yet
in the package. Files affected are
/usr/share/kde4/apps/ktuberling/
In fact, module "option" is able to support this modem right now, but it
doesn't know so, because the modem ID isn't bundled into the module.
The patch simply tells the kernel to use the "option" module to handle
the Alcatel X060.
So yes, expect this modem to be automatically recognised and handl

Partly good news on this bug: I've sound for now with 2.6.28-22 kernel,
although weaker than with 2.6.27-11 kernel.
The problem was that with the newest kernel the two "Analog loopback"
channels were unmuted, and this lead to no audio at all (at least in my
laptop, a HP Pavilion dv7).

@Carlos: Interestingly, in my pavilion the audio didn't work out-of-the-
box. It sounded choppy. The solution was to add a line
options snd-hda-intel enable_msi=1
So, perhaps there's something wrong with MSI (Message Signaled
Interrupt) in this motherboard? or in the linux kernel?

Finally, a BIOS update solved this problem for me.
I had to reinstall the original windows Vista from the recover partition
to use the BIOS flash utility from HP, which is a vista-only
application. The reinstall took more than 1h30' and 5 reboots in total,
for a less-than-1-minute BIOS flashing. S
I'ma also affected by this bug in a HP pavilion dv7 1155es. I've not
updated the bios yet, though. Maybe this evening, if I manage to figure
out how to perform a bios update without windows (I removed windows
completely at first power-up)

Initial situation: Kubuntu Hardy with KDE4 desktop installed from
unofficial packages (ppa repository).
When upgrading to Kubuntu intrepid beta, the installation was succesful,
but when I tried to log in after the restart, a box appeared complaining
about not finding "kstartu

links were opened by konqueror itself, as usual. This started to
