Public bug reported:

I'm using 12.04-2, grub version 1.99
Kernal panic-not syncing: VFS: unable to mount root fs on unknown block (0,0)
I've seen a few people with this error, and have been trying to get this
installed for most of the day.
I tried to do a boot-repair
http://paste.ubuntu.com/1661778/
nothing seems to work.
I tried nomodeset.
I need to dual boot windows 7, which is in UEFI, however legacy install does
work.
I cannot reinstall windows into Legacy.
I've seen a few un solved pages with this issue.
Any help would be appreciated, otherwise I'll either stick with win7 or switch
to a functioning distro.

** Affects: linux (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
