I have a global inbox, three email addresses, and some 30 filters that
sort my email into some 20 folders under my inbox. In Oneiric, the
messaging messaging shows all new mail in the inbox and its subfolders,
and reports which subfolder the messages are in. That's extremely handy
for me.

This was a very annoying and frustrating bug for me and it took quite
some searching to find the solution in the forums. I've used Ubuntu
since 7.04, have only ever used one workspace, and could figure out what
in the world happened when spread stopped working after I installed
Unity 5.12.

The advanced partitioner does not allow you to easily specify a mountpoint for
a partition if you wish to use an unusual or nonstandard name.
For example, /dev/sda11 ext4 partition mounted as /home/$USER/sharedstuff
3rd followup. I did a complete restart of Ubuntu, and for the last 15
mins at least the problem seems to have disappeared. Seems like a
restart of firefox alone is not enough. mp3s and flvs play fine; haven't
checked everything else yet. played both at once, via r...box and totem
with firefox and t
additional info. thunderbird did an add-ons compatibility check upon
restart; perhaps t-bird (which also was running) should also have been
restarted (along with firefox) after the xulrunner update was installed?

followup -- I tried ogg and spx files and couldn't play them, either.
Went away for a while, came back and tried a radio broadcast in
rhythmbox and the first one failed (null was reported); tried a second
radio station and it worked. Then went back to the mp3s and tried them
and now they work. I do
2nd followup. Spoke too soon; rhythmbox stopped playing the mp3 after I
sent my followup note. BTW, I generally have firefox and thunderbird
running in the background most of the time.

upgraded firefox 3 and xul-runner via Update Manager this morning in
Ubuntu 8.04.1 (Desktop), and now rhythmbox and totem won't play my mp3s
and totem won't play flvs. All played fine last night. Rhythmbox has
also stopped playing CDs (it's CD playback has been buggy, but now
