I recently changed my job site and now I get access to internet through
a proxy server without autentication. Since all is working well, the
problem seems to be related to the autentication.

Sorry, I've been out for few weeks and I couldn't answer before.
About kernel bisection, I think I haven't enough knowledge to do it.
I installed some older kernel versions, till 3.0.0.12 without solving the
problem, then I installed ubuntu 11.10 (same kernel version 3.0.0.12) on
another partitio
I installed the v3.5 kernel but it does not fix the bug.

Since I upgraded from 11.10 to 12.04 (i386 on a Dell Latitude E5520) my wired
connection became extremely slow.
I also tried with a live cd of ubuntu 12.04 but I had the same problem.
Now I'm working with Linux Mint 11 and Windows xp works good too.
