All the work arounds are great, glad we figured them out. However this is a bug, not a bug to work around but a bug to be fixed. Its been many months since this issue has existed. Quite frankly I think it might be best to start looking into alternate means of splash screens besides plymouth since i

well personally I am using the proprietary Nvidia Driver. If I might add my two cents here, I think we all would like both sides of the coin in this ideally, that is shininess and efficiency (at least I would), and one of these sides right now is severely lacking. Possible temp fix for NVidia use
