If the special characters are not visible in the final PDF, then this
may rather be an issue with your Latex - PDF workflow pipeline and not
with Kile itself.

I executed
''sudo apt-get remove hlatex-fonts-base hlatex-fonts-extra''
and removed the packages.
Afterwards everything installed fine.

I downloaded the amd64 edition today and booted from it to install it.
After the KDE Desktop loaded correctly i clicked on the Install Icon and the
