I just noticed this on ubuntu 64bit / jaunty. It seems to be hitting
the integer limit (about 2gig) and then going to zero. If your burn is
big enough (over 4.2 gig) the progress bar resumes again from the start
- and then the burn finishes.

Unfortunately I still can't enable desktop effects on the live CD. This

I'll probably upgrade my installation when the beta comes out and try it
then.

To me, there are (still) multiple issues here.
1) As a user trying out ubuntu, desktop effects simply fail.
The problem with this is that there is no indication of why it failed.
I know that it's probably because it's running the open source drivers.
That's why I tried to find out what was runnin
Actually my problem IS that I can't enable the desktop effects. Am I
required to go through hoops before I enable this functionality on the
live CD? If so, why? This doesn't leave a great impression for people
testing out ubuntu which is what the liveCD is for.

I tried using alpha 4 and I can't even enable desktop effects. This is
possibly due to running the wrong drivers - when I try to check jockey-
gtk crashes and the screens+graphics is empty when I run it. I'll give
it another try in a later release.
