Release 11.10 - Beta 1 - Updated to the latest as of 13th Sept 2011
Tested in: Unity 3D and Unity 2D
There are a few indications that the Text field used in the Unity dash
on both 2d and 3d is not a normal text field [and I'm not talking about
looks here]. These issues make

For the sake of consistency, the Scrollbar in the unity dash should have
an overlay scrollbar handle just like the rest of the new scrollbars in
the OS. It doesn't have to be orange or anything as that would look
horrible in the dash, it just needs a handle like the other
Just tested in Unity 3D (only got it working on VBOX now) on Oneric
Alpha and the bug still exists there even though it has been fixed in
Unity 2D. It looks like Unity 2D is more stable all around in Oneric -
Let's hope they get this and some of the other Unity 3D issues resolved
during the beta
I just noticed this bug has been fixed in Unity 2D on Oneric Alpha 3.
Can somebody confirm is this has been fixed in Unity 3D too? If it has
been, I guess this bug can be closed! :)

Yes, I really hope this bug will be fixed for Oneric! Not being able to
paste in the dash gives a really low quality feel to it - it's just
another reasons for bloggers to hate Unity even though it is
progressing in the right direction

Please correct me if this is the wrong place to report this bug...
Every since I installed Natty 64 beta 1 on my machine, the computer
would periodically fail to shut down or restart maybe 50% of the time.
The screen would simply go
The real issue here is that there is no GUI option/setting to have
bluetooth turned off at startup. I think many users [especially laptop
users] do not like to have bluetooth turned on every time the computer
boots due to its power usage. This is why this user had the need to
configure it manually

Oh dear, In that case I apologise for the confusion! I had seen
somebody else report the same issue I was having in bug 550824, so maybe
its an upgrade issue left over since Lucid or Maverick. I'll do a

I just did a clean install of Natty Beta 2 -x86 on an old spare hard

when I start ubuntu, the Change Status options in the Me Menu are

No neither of these changes worked for me, I'm afraid. Although I never
knew you could set a password keyring to blank, very useful!
I'm quite happy with my workaround to add empathy as a Startup

@ Tony Reports, the work for this bug report has been finished and is
released in the Ubunty 11.04 'Natty' Beta. You also mentioned that the
options in the Me Menu are also disabled when you log in. This is
actually because you must start the Empathy chat application, once you
do those options in

This bug is not a duplicate of bug 550824. These are two very different
issues. Bug 550824 is related to the 'Chat Status' change options
becoming disabled (greyed out) after the user changes uses the Me Menu

I agree, especially since middle-click is going to be an important
feature in Unity as a shortcut to open new instances of an application,
there needs to be support for trackpad users. Like a lot of laptop
users, I never sit at a desk and hook up a mouse. At the very least, an

the rest of the time it shuts down cleanly. Its seems to be fairly

Hi! I'm not sure if this is a known issue or a work in progress, but I
couldn't find any mention of it on launchpad. So its obviously the goal
that most applications will eventually use the globalmenu and that is a
work in progress. However, I
