this crash file also has lots of compiz errors... the difference is,
this one is based from my login while .0.crash is from root:root.
also I believe both of these files were created after I ran 'unity
--reset' and 'sudo unity --reset' as requested and therefore are likely
not related to the
here's a more disturbing screenshot.
here's a 'normal' unity boot up on my box. notice how there are no menus
except for gnome-terminal active and there's no way to graphically
reboot or change networks for that matter. there are also no crash files
whatsoever in /var/crash.

using beta 2 installer, unity now appears to be working without issue.
further testing suggested when upgrading from 10.10 - 11.04 when 11.04 is
close to release.

I've attached a screenshot. It shows the menus for firefox but nothing
on login and there's no launch menus on the left as previous.
sudo unity --reset gives
the error shown in the screenshot...
If I didn't have a directory in the Desktop directory, I wouldn't be
able to access anything. Notice

I'd rather not completely reinstall just to get unity working again unless
absolutely necessary...
I can use Ubuntu Classic with effects enabled without issue.

this is an upgrade on an asus eeepc 1005haI can still manipulate and
work with the system with the command line but the GUI is useless since
there's no menus.

I installed Intrepid Ibex alpha 6 under VMware Workstation 6.0.5 and this
problem is no longer present.

So it sounds like on a fresh Vmware Workstation install of ibex alpha 6,
there's no issue until vmware tools is installed.
I can't get my tools to install therefore I am not having this mouse
problem. Not being able to install vmware tools however is a whole another
problem unfortunately. :(

I installed Intrepid Ibex Alpha 2 under a virtual machine under VMware
Workstation 6.0.4 with MS Vista Business Edition as the host OS. After
logging into the VM, every left click I do opens the trash. I cannot do
anything else.
