I might add my observations as well.
- Added VLC to repository then proceeded on doing "Go to system settings
> details page. On bottom right corner, (checking for updates)" = system
up to date.
- sudo apt-get update via Terminal then proceeded on doing "Go to system
settings > details page.

I've spend all day with my kids recording animations with stopmotion,
unfortunately when I try to open any recorded file, it coredumps with

The same happens to me, noticed after Unity update (version installed is
7.2.2+14.04.20140714-0ubuntu1).
The four workspaces does not disappear but the moved window (like Gedit) across
workspaces remains "editable" as I can add text to it.
Noticed that compiz is using lots of CPU in this process.

updated up to July, 20th, 2014 using Chrome's Remote Desktop plugin.

have experienced some serious issues when switching from virtual terminals.
It's very easy to reproduce, open steam bigpicture or any other fullscreen game
and press CTRL+ALT+F2(3,4,5,6,7,8), you

just get stuck at ubuntu's dots screen every 4 or 5 boot, nothing works,

I'm already on 3.9.0-0.4, so I can't install it.
Puting the following lines in rc.local makes the card load the dsp file:
rmmod snd-hda-intel
modprobe snd-hda-intel
It still displays the error on boot though, but later on, the dsp
firmware is loaded into the card. I have found that if I delete
I attach a script that should be able to fix the files and still keep
reasonable approximations of the original comments with non-ASCII
characters. It assumes that the bad files are using UTF-8 encoding. To
use it you should (as root, that is using sudo):
0) Copy recusively /etc/apt/sources.list.d
Just to add that 3.9 mainline kernel doesn't show this error on boot.

I'm running saucy with the latest 3.9.0-0.4 kernel and the latest linux-
firmware package 1.107 which have added ca0132 firmware files.
Now I have this error message at boot "ca0132 DOWNLOAD FAILED!!! DSP IS
NOT RUNNING.΅
The sound still doesn't work.
Any tips, how can I fix this?

This problem happens in eog, audacious, firefox, basically each program
that dont open maximized, but try to fill the entire screen. It happen
since 11.10, then in 12.04 and now in 12.10 (my current version). This
