I am using plymouth 0.8.2-2ubuntu2 and have the same issue.
Though I must admit that I made changes to /etc/default/grub and

Nvidia driver.

Using the guest login I didn't see the behavior so I cleaned up .gconf,

I am still seeing this bug with the RC. In my case the bluetooth icon

I can confirm this on an Acer 5920. According to
https://bugs.launchpad.net/hundredpapercuts/+bug/386017 this is an
intentional behavior.
The workaround mentioned here and in the link above does not work for
me. Synclient -l shows
RTCornerButton = 0

I can confirm this for an Acer Aspire 5920 with current Jaunty

they are present)
Sorry, not sure what you mean but I just started Synaptic on Intrepid

Hi Marco,
sorry, my suggestions were for Intrepid, for Hardy you should follow the
complete instructions at the above mentioned forum thread. There are
some changes you have to make to your xorg.conf in Hardy that are no
longer possible in Intrepid because of the very minimal xorg.conf.
That's
Marco, one more thing about the xbindkeys: this will only work if you
manage to setup the mediakeys so that they simulate mouse buttons 17-20.
That's what the 'b:' means in the .xbindkeysrc. You can manage this on
Hardy with changes to xorg.conf or on Intrepid with the xinput-
workaround.

About the arcade, euro and dollar keys:
You have to edit the file
/usr/share/hal/fdi/information/10freedesktop/30-keymap-acer.fdi to get
them working. I must admit I mapped euro and dollar to page up and down
as it makes more sense for me but there should be a way to get euro and
dollar instead
I've fixed the brightness bug by removing the video module.
There seems to be an official fix for the brightness problem:

David,
follow the instructions here to get the media keys working on Intrepid:

I don't use two- or three-finger-clicks but vertical scrolling and
corner-clicks for middle and right button worked out of the box for me.

Hi Paulo,
it also happens with the original GPM package. I have the impression
that even GPM from the Hardy RCs did work better... but that just as a
side note.

I incidentally found a way to reproduce the bug: as mentioned I changed

Hi,
what is the current state of this ticket? I am confused that it is only
marked as a wishlist because I am effected by this bug every day in
Hardy with active compiz.
Am I the only one experiencing this bug, are there any further
information needed or is there even some kind of workaround?
Suddenly it is working. Booting the machine for several days now and
it always worked. Maybe some of the latest updates fixed it...

I can confirm this with Hardy Final. I switched minimize window to
Alt+Z with Gnome shortcut settings and it only works for the current
session. Then I also changed it to Alt+Z in the compiz setting with
gconf-editor. Same here, after a reboot the shortcut doesn't work
anymore.
