It would be a nice touch to add some "install updates not requiring
reboot" button, so I don't have to cherrypick the kernel out of the
upgrade packages, just press the simple one, and go on with my other
tasks.

I would suggest that update manager should notify the user of the
distro's end of life at least 2 weeks before that time arrives.
Same goes for apt in cli.
So theoretically no one would use an unsupported distro because lack of
information.

I think this is a bug (might be even serious) as data loss could happen
because of update-managers way of popups.
Expected to happen:
- update notifier shows dialog in background
- user presses ok
- update manager downloads and installs stuff
- update manager does not po
I would say this event happened to thousands of users thousands of
times, but as the computer is still restarting, noone has the realtime
ability to report this as a bug, and as the booting and login process
starts users forgot what happened earlier, and they don't open launchpad
to report. This wa
It's most probably linked to the bug #1327546 as it happened to me 10
minutes ago, and sheechd-up is a newly installed package failing again.

Thanks for the tip, but id did not solve my symptoms.
(BTW I can live without this keyboard, but as it was working well a day
ago with 11.10, it's probably some bug implemented since that revision,
maybe affecting a few other guys when stable 1204 release happens. :) )

plugging the Chicony "KG-06-09" wireless HID (keyboard with touchpad)
in.
I was able to use this same config (keyboard,mouse,keyboard+touchpad)
with the 11.10 Xorg.
