zmzach, I've just got "noapic clocksource=hpet" appended to the other
options. Unless my memory fails me nolapic would mess up things badly.
Also, I am using a 64-bit version of ubuntu on a 64-bit processor, if

I've got a similar problem with the ati driver on gusty (final release),
it may be the same as you have. How does lock ups manifest themselves?

I can confirm the same problem. It seems to happen regardless to java vm

So you can paste the file using CTRL+V ?
If you change how the files are shown you'll be able to right click and
paste the file. Take a look at my attachment and try and change to that
view instead, and you'll see (even though I'm showing you that view with
konqueror, it works with nautilus too).

I have similar problems with my HP ZV6000 -laptop (Xpress 200M-card).
Sometimes when switching from kdm to a text-console, the screen goes
black and I have to reboot. I have not been able to figure out when this
happens, as sometimes it works, sometimes i doesn't.
