I've updated to hardy, installed the compiz options, running it with normal
option.
I came back to no options and then no more problem...
using the kde window manager...

In the volume and file system section of kde control center, th cd/dvd device
is disable by default. when i enable it i can read the content of the removale
support and the icons appear on the desktop. but i can't eject it without
disabling the cd/dvd device in the kde kontrol center.
on the
2/ still have the problem which seems to be with hal (kde 3.5.4 and later) for
usb keys.
have also the same problem with kubuntu dapper with kde version 3.5.4 and laters
