I'm seeing this bug on Ubuntu bionic 18.04 with dpkg v.1.19.0.5ubuntu2.

I have had a similar problem recently, although not with Ubuntu. When
the speed starts to go very slow, try doing:
echo 1 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches
I think there may be a kernel bug related to buffers which causes this
slowdown when the buffers are full.

I had this problem too, however I realised (after browsing /var/log/pm-
suspend.log) that I had a custom file to get around a problem in 11.10
-- i.e. I had /usr/lib/pb-utils/sleep.d/00Custom
Removing this solved the problem for me. Not sure if this helps the

system to those above, I have a Dell Studio XPS (L501X). Suspend/resume
worked fine on 10.10. On 11.04 suspend works fine; on resume the hard
