Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: laptop-mode-tools
Upgrade from 9.04 to 9.10 and process froze on Stopping laptop mode.
Had to kill the process that was trying to do this to proceed. Got
message saying there had been a problem but upgrade continued OK.

They're definitely not _all_ the same issue - the CTRL-ALT-L key
combination mentioned in #256139 works fine for me. Also #291594 - I
can switch between workspaces using CTRL-ALT-LEFT and CTRL-ALT-RIGHT.

Attached are the output from lspci and xorg.log
I have the same issue - MS Wireless Laser Keyboard, the volume up/down
controls and other special keys don't have any effect any more. They
did work OK in Hardy

I see this same issue and that command gives:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ gvfs-info -f ~/.gvfs/mount
Error getting info: Error getting filesystem info: No such file or directory
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ gvfs-info -f ~/.gvfs/
attributes:

I believe this is a duplicate of ticket #104091
