so won't do a big repeat here but sufficient to say it was still unable to
produce sound using Ubuntu 18.04. Sadly it died just last week and at 14 years
of age lazarus is an unexpected event for it. The workaround
Brilliant you still pursue this after all this time. My laptop sadly died just
last week, but at 14 years of age and a life that included 2-3 years rough
gaming by an enthusiastic teenager I reckon that's not bad.
