Did you try to install the driver from hardware drivers? And can you
check in synaptic or on the terminal with 'apt-cache policy bcmwl-
kernel-source' if the bcmwl-kernel-source package is installed? The
driver was moved to a seperate package in Karmic due to licensing

Yes, they can now be set in the mouse properties as it was intended by
gnome since the new version of gnome-control-center was uploaded to
karmic repos on 2009-07-27. :)
